Well the Australian backyard has never had it better: years of research has produced a range of soft leaf buffalo grasses that has excellent shade tolerance, remarkable colour and low maintenance.

Less time mowing the lawn means more time to play on it with barefeet...

The ST Family of Lawns:

The New Generation of Soft Leaf Buffalo

ST-26, ST-85 and ST-91 soft leaf buffalo grasses have been bred for slow growing - requiring less mowing, watering and fertiliser. They have excellent shade tolerance, winter dormancy resistance and consistent deep green colour.

For an assessment by Richmond TAFE/NSW Agriculture of 18 common varieties of turf with a view to greenness and dormancy mid-winter and the effect of frost, click here. Note that ST26 was found to be "The Best Buffalo at this stage".
